Get connected: Join a growing network of justice system-impacted innovators who are turning barriers into breakthroughs.
Anyone with lived experience in the justice system (incarceration, probation, or reentry).
Must live in Allegheny County or have a project that serves its residents.
Individuals or teams are welcome.
You don’t need a business plan, just a strong idea, a clear purpose, and the drive to make it happen.
Apply: Submit your idea online (applications open early 2026).
Pitch Prep: Finalists will receive coaching from BreakIT to refine their idea and presentation.
Live Pitch: Selected finalists will present their ideas at the ACAR Reentry Summit in front of a live audience and judging panel.
Funding & Incubation: Winners receive funding and join the BreakIT incubator for 12 months of structured support.
Showcase: Return to the next Summit to share your progress, impact, and next steps.
A panel of local & regional justice system-impacted entrepreneurs, will evaluate pitches based on:
